  • Robbie Foxen | Executive Director, Journeyman Lineman
  • Robert Foxen's role as Executive Director of Missouri Valley Line Constructors since 2016 underscores his substantial tenure and commitment to the institute, which he joined in 2000. With prior experience as a Journeyman Lineman, Foxen brings valuable expertise to his leadership position, particularly in understanding the intricacies of the field and overseeing the apprenticeship program. His extensive experience and dedication undoubtedly contribute to the effective management and development of Missouri Valley Line Constructors, ensuring the continued success of the institute and the advancement of its apprentices.

  • Matt Poutre | Assistant Director Apprentice Academics, Journeyman Lineman
  • Matt Poutre has been serving as the Assistant Director of Apprentice Academics at Missouri Valley since May 1st, 2016. His role involves traveling across the 7 states within their jurisdiction to conduct Subcommittee meetings, aptitude testing, interviews, and job fairs. Additionally, Matt tracks apprentice progression through field evaluations and time sheets. Educated at Humboldt High School and Missouri Valley JATC, where he topped out in October 2002, Matt is deeply rooted in the linework industry. Matt now resides in Des Moines with his beautiful wife, Lindsey, and their two amazing children. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Matt became a lineman. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with and raising their kids, as well as shooting guns and riding dirt bikes. One of his favorite work memories is assisting in rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina in Miami, staying an extra five months to help FP&L reconstruct. With his dedication to linework and commitment to service, Matt Poutre continues to play a vital role in the apprenticeship programs at Missouri Valley.

  • David Borner is dedicated to delivering quality instruction aligned with industry standards. With a background in Education from Bethel University and graduating from Missouri Valley Apprenticeship, David emphasizes excellence in everything he does. Based in Indianola, Iowa, David and his wife are proud parents of four children. Drawn to the lineman profession for its challenges and diverse work opportunities, David finds fulfillment in supporting his family. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality moments with his family and engaging in various sports as a player, spectator, and coach. His favorite work memories are the moments when his students grasp challenging concepts, marking milestones of understanding and growth. With his commitment to excellence and passion for teaching, David Borner continues to make a positive impact within the Missouri Valley JATC community.

  • Shawn Jamison dedicates himself to preparing students for the Outside Electrical Field. With his education from NWLine JATC and a wealth of experience, Shawn embodies the advice: "If I do this - what will happen? Those who want it will make it happen." Hailing from a small town in Iowa, Shawn is married and the proud father of two wonderful children. His linework journey is deeply rooted in family tradition, being a fourth-generation lineman. In his free time, Shawn enjoys spending quality moments with his family. One of his favorite work memories is witnessing the community's reaction after restoring power to a town following a major storm. With his passion for linework and dedication to service, Shawn Jamison continues to uphold his family's legacy while making a positive impact at Midwest Line College.

  • Leigh Conducy is a Journeyman Lineman from Alaska. Leigh strives to deliver the best possible class every time he is sent to train and teach. Leigh’s classroom delivers active learning and field applicability. Leigh’s skills as a trainer are directly related to his over 18,000 hours of presentation time. Leigh’s time at varying tier levels within several organizations have made him a better trainer. Leigh’s safety culture is steeped in building a workforce that knows how to implement defenses into their workday. When everything goes wrong, everyone goes home. “Safety training should be engaging, interesting, and worth the investment. We’re only as good as the last class we just taught. My  favorite class? Is the one I’m about to go and teach.”

  • Micki Bauer | Operations Manager
  • Anna Rowe | Executive Administrator
  • Anna Rowe serves as the Executive Administrator at Missouri Valley, overseeing various aspects of operations and providing support to applicants, apprentices, local unions, and contractors. Her responsibilities include answering inquiries, organizing Subcommittee Meetings, facilitating apprentice hotel needs, scheduling classes, recording grades, and assisting with job assignments. Anna's education includes studies at Southeast Warren High School, the University of Northern Iowa, and Drake University. She values the advice that "A leader who can’t handle being questioned should never be followed." Originally from Lacona, IA, Anna is married to Jim and is a proud parent to Hunter, Justice, Grace, and Lilly. Anna's interests include reading, spending time with family, and traveling. Her favorite work memory is the daily laughter shared with her colleague Tiffany. With her dedication and leadership skills, Anna Rowe plays a pivotal role in the success of Missouri Valley.

  • Stacey Roberson plays a vital role in the administration at Missouri Valley JATC, overseeing various tasks from application approval to supplier purchasing. Educated at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with a bachelor's degree, Stacey is also an IBEW member in good standing. Her life motto, "Moderation and Hydration," reflects her balanced approach to life. Residing in Indianola, Iowa, Stacey is happily married to Wes Roberson, with two sons, Cannon and Kyle. Stacey's love for the outdoors is evident in her hobbies, including camping, boating, clay target shooting, fishing, horseback riding, and vacationing. One of her favorite work memories involves a humorous incident where Wes was brought a goat as part of an FFA fundraiser and had to pay to give it back, leaving Stacey wishing she could have kept it. With her dedication to her role and zest for life, Stacey Roberson brings energy and efficiency to the Missouri Valley JATC administration team.

  • Dave Audette, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. Originally from Minnesota, Dave's journey in the electrical industry began with a desire to forge his own path. In his role at the JATC, Dave is deeply invested in guiding, teaching, and instructing apprentices, instilling essential skills and knowledge vital for their future careers. His philosophy of "Trust but verify" underscores his approach to teaching and life. Dave finds fulfillment in witnessing individuals grow and develop, and he's dedicated to assisting communities impacted by storms and hurricanes, restoring power to those who have endured prolonged outages. With his unwavering dedication, Dave continues to make a lasting impact within the Missouri Valley JATC and the broader electrical industry.
  • Jarvis Everett | Instructor, Journeyman Lineman
  • Jarvis Everett is dedicated to shaping the next generation of linemen by instilling safety and efficiency. His education includes college studies supplemented by the Missouri Valley line Apprenticeship, providing him with a well-rounded foundation for teaching. Jarvis embodies the advice, "When you leave this world, the only thing you leave behind is the memory of how you treated others and the things you have built," emphasizing the importance of integrity and craftsmanship. Married with two children, Jarvis found his calling as a lineman through his love for building with his hands and the desire for a stable career. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, working on cars, and spending quality time with his family. One of his favorite work memories is the satisfaction of helping someone learn a skill that can benefit them in the future.   • Steven Fastenow is dedicated to guiding apprentices through their journey to becoming competent and safe Journeymen. Educated through the Missouri Valley Apprenticeship, Steven embodies the advice he received: "Never stop learning." Hailing from Carlisle, Iowa,  Steven's fascination with linework began in childhood, drawn to the specialized equipment and tools. As he delved deeper into the trade, he realized it aligned perfectly with his career and lifestyle aspirations of hard work and helping others. With four kids, Steven finds little time for hobbies, but he cherishes moments with his family. One of his favorite work memories is participating in storm restorations, ensuring the safety of affected areas and restoring power to communities, enabling them to resume normalcy. With his dedication to his craft and commitment to service, Steven Fastenow continues to make a meaningful impact within the Missouri Valley JATC community.

  • Brent Nelson brings over two decades of experience in the electrical industry to his role. Specializing in 1st-7th step Line Apprentice classes, Brent is committed to passing on his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of linemen. His education stems from Missouri Valley JATC and 20 years in the IBEW, grounding him in both theoretical and practical aspects of the trade. Brent's best advice received? "Save your money," reflecting his practical approach to finances. Originally from Dubuque, IA, Brent is a devoted husband and father of two boys. His love for the outdoors led him to pursue a career as a lineman, finding joy in being outside. In his free time, Brent enjoys golfing, walleye fishing, and hunting. One of his favorite work memories is working out west with his family in their 5th wheel, cherishing the opportunity to blend work and family adventures. With his dedication to teaching and wealth of experience, Brent Nelson continues to make a significant impact within the Missouri Valley JATC community.

Residing in Story City, Iowa, with his wife and son, Ryan found his calling as a lineman due to its versatility and opportunities for growth. He appreciates the ability to travel or stay close to home, work in the field or pursue management roles, and even guide future linemen as an instructor. In his free time, Ryan indulges in his passion for woodworking and cherishes moments with his family. With his dedication to excellence and enthusiasm for teaching, Ryan Zimmerman continues to make a significant impact within the Missouri Valley community.

  • Jeff Deuel | Instructor-MidWest Line College, Journeyman Lineman
  • Jeff Deuel is dedicated to preparing the next generation for successful apprenticeships. Educated at Missouri Valley JATC, Jeff embodies the advice that "Your reputation will always get to where you are going before you do." Jeff chose to become a lineman to master a profession that blends physical skills with technical expertise. Proudly raising a son and a daughter, Jeff finds joy in hunting, fishing, boating, woodworking, and other outdoor activities during his free time. One of his most cherished work memories is witnessing the day his son achieved Journeyman Lineman status, symbolizing the continuation of their family's linework legacy. With his passion for teaching and commitment to excellence, Jeff Deuel continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of linework at Missouri Valley JATC.

  • Jason Middleton | Mobile Trainer, Journeyman Lineman

  • Jason Middleton is a Journeyman Lineman from Wisconsin and is one of our Mobile Training Specialists. He served in our armed forces which led him to become a senior military leadership instructor. Currently, Jason is one of the only JRY Lineman/Military/Trainers in the industry. His military experience works well in the classroom setting and is proven in the field. Jason knows how to relate and explain the information being delivered to each student and his critical thinking skills aid him in creating applicable scenarios and fostering group discussions.  Jason’s compass is to promote a better understanding of our trade while establishing an unwavering safety culture. His growth mindset and innovative training approach create new ways to reinforce skills at every level. Trainers like Jason are what keeps our mobile training team at the top of the industry.

  • Cody Edgington is responsible for grounds and facility maintenance at Missouri Valley, undertaking tasks like mowing, snow removal, custodial work, and equipment maintenance. Educated at Indianola High School, Cody embodies the advice to "Make yourself as valuable as possible." Hailing from Indianola, Iowa, Cody is currently single and doesn't have children. Despite not being a lineman, he shares interests in crossfit, hunting, and fishing during his free time. His favorite work memory is his first week, suggesting a positive start to his journey at Missouri Valley. With his commitment to excellence and valuable contributions to facility maintenance, Cody Edgington plays an essential role in ensuring smooth operations at Missouri Valley

  • Bryce Anderson is an Apprenticeship Instructor at Missouri Valley, dedicated to providing instruction and a strong knowledge base for apprentices as they progress through their training. He earned his education from Northwest Iowa Community College and lives by the advice, "Tomorrow is not a guarantee, so live each day to the fullest." Hailing from Yankton, SD, Bryce is single and has no kids. His decision to become a lineman was driven by the opportunity to work outdoors with his hands while earning a white-collar salary. In his free time, Bryce enjoys riding Harleys, spending time on the water with his dog, and indulging in his collection of remote-controlled cars. One of his favorite work memories is seeing his students graduate, marking the culmination of their hard work and dedication

  • Jim Pike, an instructor at Missouri Valley JATC, is dedicated to inducting and training future linemen. A graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, NE, and a Journeyman Lineman trained at Missouri Valley JATC, Jim lives by the advice: "Do the best you can do at any task asked of you and utilize the standards of honesty, integrity, and quality. Good fortune will fall in place." Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Jim is married to his wonderful wife, Sweet Mary, and they have two awesome daughters. His journey into linework began when his father-in-law, a 50-year union inside electrician, encouraged him to sign the books at the local outside union hall. That decision shaped the next 40 years of his life. In his free time, Jim enjoys riding and working on motorcycles, spending time on the lake in his boat, and camping when he can. His favorite memories from work include meeting some of the best people he's ever come across—a journey that continues to this day. As Jim reflects, "Thank You Lord for thinking about me, I’m alive and doin' fine!"
